Run to Remember @ Junction City Shopping Center

All proceeds from the Run to Remember benefit the Illinois Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors, an organization that helps families of fallen officers to live, love, and renew life.

Illinois Concerns of Police Survivors Inc. (C.O.P.S.)

Each year, between 140 and 160 officers are killed in the line of duty and their families and co-workers are left to cope with the tragic loss.  C.O.P.S. provides resources to help them rebuild their shattered lives.  There is no membership fee to join C.O.P.S., for the price paid is already too high.

The Illinois Concerns of Police Survivors is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which provides resources to assist in the rebuilding of the lives of surviving families of law enforcement officers killed in the line-of-duty as determined by Federal criteria.  Illinois C.O.P.S. provides emotional and financial support as well as legal assistance to survivors of fallen officers.

Illinois Concerns of Police Survivors responds after line-of-duty deaths to support the surviving family members.  We offer support as long as needed to all survivors.  Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a years, support is just a phone call away.

Illinois Concerns of Police Survivors is a state chapter of the national organization and is dependent on charitable donations and fundraisers.  Illinois C.O.P.S. is a 501(c)(3) organization and donations are tax deductible according to current IRS regulations.  Illinois C.O.P.S. does not use telemarketers or phone solicitation at any time or in any way!  All contributions directly benefit the families of fallen law enforcement officers in Illinois.

Five Points 1st Annual Pickleball Tournament: Supporting the BRIDGE Education Foundation @ Five Points Washington

Join Five Points Washington’s 1st Annual Pickleball Tournament as we support The BRIDGE Education Foundation and their Paint the Path event.

Five Points Cares is teaming up with the BRIDGE Education Foundation for this year’s Paint the Path event! Come together with neighbors to celebrate creativity and local talent. In addition to the mural painting at Paint the Path, we’ll be hosting a Student Art Fair showcasing the work of young artists, and a Pickleball Tournament for a variety of ages. Head to The BRIDGE Education Foundation’s website to learn more about Paint the Path.

The Pickleball Tournament will hold two different age divisions. Each team is 2 people and divisions are decided by combining the ages of the two teammates. If the combined age is over 120 years, you will be in the Over 120 Years division and if the combined ages is less than 120, you will be in the Under 120 Years division. All participants must be at least 18 to register for the tournament.

Divisions

Over 120 years – Tournament play starts at 8:00AM

Under 120 years – Tournament play starts at 12:00PM

*12 Team Maximum Per Division

Tournament Play

All games will be held inside the Five Points Washington gymnasium. Tournament play will be Round Robin style where each team will play each other once. You will play one game against each team. Scoring will be side out scoring (regular Pickleball scoring, not rally).

Registration

Each participant must sign up for the tournament. Registration for both participants, on a team, must be completed together so team information is on the same registration. The cost is $25 per participant.

$25 per person

An Evening With CAKE @ Peoria Riverfront Festival Park
Jun 26 @ 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm
An Evening With CAKE @ Peoria Riverfront Festival Park

Originally formed as a somewhat antagonistic answer to grunge, CAKE’s defiant self-reliance and lucid yet ever-inventive music has made them a nation-state unto themselves with no evident peers in sound or perspective. CAKE’s most recent album, Showroom of Compassion, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart and was touted as “deadpan brilliance” by The New Yorker Magazine. While seamlessly blending numerous genres and influences, CAKE issues forth a sound and vision unlike any other band.

CAKE is currently at work on their ninth album due for release during autumn 2025.

Presale for the show starts Thursday, February 6th at 10am. Use code DISTANCE to score tickets. General on sale begins Friday, February 7th at 10am.
